I took these outside my apartment on the night of Ithaca's first snowfall in winter 2004. It was pitch black out, but I had my new tripod. Most of these were taken with 15-second exposures; others were with only 6-10 seconds. To reiterate: yes, those photos with light blue skies were actually taken when I couldn't see anything but black above me.
I had some fun with the ghost pictures; next time I'll be more careful about the footprints. :) The last picture I took, the self-portrait as a shadow in the snow, was just a quick "I wonder if I can make this work" experiment that came out great on the first shot.
I love my tripod, I should have thought to buy one a long long time ago. One of these days I'll even figure out the proper exposures to not make everything so dark and grainy. But I'm trying :)
